Ingredients:
1lb Ground Beef
3/4 cups diced onions
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground cloves
7 oz bottle of ketchup
1/2 tbs chili powder
1/2 tbs nutmeg
1/2 tbs sugar
1/2 tbs paprika
1/2 tbs black pepper
Flour
- Brown the ground beef and onions.
- Add spices and ketchup.
- Add 3 cups of water.
- Simmer about 1 hour.
- Taste and adjust spices. (I usually add more chili powder and paprika. Recommendation of my Mother-in-law)
- Scoop out about one cup of water and using a whisk add flour to thicken sauce to your liking and pour back in and stir.Repeat as many times as needed. I add about 3/4 cup of flour depending on how thick I want it.
- Let simmer for about 15-20 more minutes. I normally let cool and put in small containers to freeze. You can also double this recipe very easily.
